National would split Foodstuffs if watchdog backs it

National says if it wins the next election, it would pass a law to split Foodstuffs into two fully separate national supermarket groups — Pak'nSave in one, New World and Four Square in the other. It says it would act only if a Commerce Commission inquiry finds shoppers would be better off.
