Sound-Wave Scanner Promises Full-Body Imaging in 60 Seconds, No Radiation
Midjourney Medical announced an ultrasonic CT scanner on 18 June 2026 that uses sound waves in water instead of X-rays or magnets. The approach claims 60-second scans—far faster than MRI's typical 45–90 minutes—while eliminating radiation exposure and contraindications for patients with implanted metal or claustrophobia. The San Francisco company remains in pre-commercial development and active hiring.
