Amazon Raises Minimum Starting Pay to $20 for U.S. Operations Staff

Amazon said September 16, 2026 it will raise minimum starting pay for full-time U.S. core operations employees to $20 per hour. Eligible staff get $1 more per hour, bringing average pay to nearly $24. Amazon puts the cost above $1.5 billion, with average total pay plus benefits above $32 per hour.
