Unite urges Healey to end income tax threshold freeze to 2031
Unite, the UK's second-biggest union, said Chancellor John Healey should end the freeze on income tax thresholds, the pay levels at which tax starts, until 2031. Then-Chancellor Rachel Reeves set the freeze in her last Budget. Unions that fund Labour will meet Mr Healey on Thursday to press demands before his Budget on 28 October.
