Thaci Sentenced to 25 Years by Kosovo's Hague Court
Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, 58, was sentenced to 25 years on 16 September 2026 after the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, a Kosovo court based abroad, convicted him on four war crimes counts. Presiding Judge Charles Smith read the sentence. Thaci denies the charges. Appeal and enforcement will test whether the hybrid court can stay clear of politics.
