Aramco Shuts East-West Pipeline After Houthi Strike as Brent Reaches $108

Saudi Aramco closed its East-West pipeline, a channel for moving oil overland, after a Houthi attack. Reuters, citing shipping sources, reported loadings suspended at Red Sea port Yanbu. Brent crude, the oil price benchmark, rose nearly 3% to $108, holding above $100 on Sept. 15. Aramco had increased Yanbu use since the U.S.-Israel war on Iran began in late February.
