Arcline Takes AstroNova Private in $272 Million Deal

AstroNova, a Nasdaq-listed industrial technology company, agreed June 17 to be acquired by Nashville PE firm Arcline Investment Management for $29 per share in an all-cash deal. For small-cap companies, public listings have grown costly relative to benefits: analyst coverage is sparse, regulatory compliance is heavy, and share liquidity is thin. Going private lets management invest in products without quarterly earnings pressure.
