Bill to let Catholic or Jewish PM advise on Church posts

Ministers tabled a bill to end the ban on a Roman Catholic or Jewish prime minister advising the King on Church of England appointments. Andy Burnham, the first Catholic prime minister, said it was “unacceptable” for law to stop people of any faith doing all parts of the job.
