Beehive repairs could displace Cabinet for 18 months

Speaker Gerry Brownlee says the Beehive's executive wing may need to close for up to 18 months for repairs. The Prime Minister, Cabinet ministers and their staff would be displaced from their offices for longer than a full three-year parliamentary term. New Zealand has no backup facility for ministerial operations, creating a substantial logistical problem.
