Wall Street expects quarter-point Fed hike Sept. 15-16

Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan expect the Fed to raise rates by 25 basis points, a quarter point or 0.25 percentage points, at its Sept. 15-16 meeting, Reuters reported Sept. 14. Morgan Stanley's Matt Hornbach expects the same. That would likely raise borrowing costs and savings returns. These are forecasts, not decisions. The Fed has yet to vote.
