Iran nuclear chief barred from Vienna IAEA meeting

Iran's nuclear chief Mohammad Eslami canceled his Sept. 14, 2026 trip to the IAEA — the UN's nuclear watchdog — meeting in Vienna after Austria withdrew his visa. Austria had asked the UN to waive his travel ban, but the U.S. blocked it under the no-objection rule. Eslami, back under UN sanctions, had addressed the gathering regularly since 2021.
