Iran's nuclear leader kept out of Vienna meeting

Iran's top nuclear official, Mohammad Eslami, called off his Sept. 14, 2026 trip to a nuclear meeting in Vienna after Austria canceled his entry permit. Austria asked the United Nations to make an exception to his travel ban, but the United States objected, which was enough to stop it. Eslami, under renewed UN penalties, had spoken there regularly since 2021.
