Syria Temporarily Raises Premium Gasoline to 195 Pounds Per Liter

Syria raised premium 95-octane gasoline to 195 Syrian pounds per liter (about $1.60), starting midnight Sunday, on a temporary basis. The Energy Ministry blamed sharply higher global fuel costs and maintenance work — an overhaul — at the Baniyas Refinery, saying world prices were near $1,400 per ton for diesel and $1,350 for gasoline.
