Former Southend councillor Gabriel Leroy admits criminal conspiracy

Gabriel Leroy, a former councillor in Southend-on-Sea, pleaded guilty on 16 June to conspiracy to commit an offence under the Criminal Law Act. The underlying offence has not yet been disclosed. Sentencing is pending. A custodial sentence of three months or longer triggers automatic disqualification from holding elected office under the Localism Act 2011.
