Former Southend councillor admits guilt in criminal plot

Gabriel Leroy, who served as a councillor in Southend-on-Sea, admitted on 16 June to plotting to commit a crime under UK law. The details of what he plotted have not been revealed. He will be sentenced later. If sent to prison for three months or longer, he will be banned permanently from holding elected office.
