King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, 34, was buried in Fort Portal on Sept. 12. Ruler of Tooro since age three, he died during cancer treatment in the US. Thousands mourned while a succession dispute disrupted funeral rites, leaving the throne vacant. Uganda's traditional kings hold cultural influence, not formal political power.
