Brent Crude Nears $100 After Houthi Strike on Saudi Arabia

Brent crude touched $99.46 a barrel on September 8 — its highest since July 2026 — after Houthi militia attacked southwestern Saudi Arabia. It settled at $97.92, up 0.9%. Brent has climbed 10.5% in a month. The $100 mark has been tested repeatedly since the U.S.-Iran ceasefire but not decisively broken on a settlement basis, meaning closing prices haven't held above it.
