Oil Prices Climb to Near $100 a Barrel After Attack on Saudi Arabia

Oil prices hit $99.46 a barrel on September 8 — the highest since July 2026 — after Houthi militia attacked southwestern Saudi Arabia. Prices ended the day at $97.92, up 0.9%. Oil has risen 10.5% in a month. The $100 level has been approached several times since the U.S.-Iran ceasefire but prices haven't closed above it.
