Belgian law change lets Prince Gabriel become first royal to serve as career military officer

Prince Gabriel of Belgium, 23, graduated from the Royal Military Academy in Brussels with a degree in Social and Military Sciences. He is set to become the first Belgian royal to hold a paid professional military career, after a legal change lifted a bar on royals serving. He will train at the Infantry School in Arlon, then undergo paratrooper training at Marche-les-Dames and Schaffen.
