Sydney Woman Attacked by Three-Metre Shark at Coogee Beach; Critical Surgery Underway

Leah Stewart was mauled by a shark estimated at three to four metres long at Coogee Beach on Saturday, 13 June. An off-duty lifeguard witnessed the attack, helped extract her from the water, and on-site lifeguards responded immediately. She underwent multiple surgeries. Authorities closed all eastern suburbs beaches and deployed jet ski and drone patrols to monitor for further shark activity.
