Beto y Sus Canarios singer Edilberto Portillo alive after being shot five times outside Mexico venue

Edilberto "Don Beto" Portillo, founder and lead singer of Tierra Caliente group Beto y Sus Canarios, is alive and receiving medical care after being shot at least five times on Saturday outside Rodeo Texcoco in Chicoloapan, Estado de México. Armed men intercepted him as he stepped off the band's bus before a scheduled performance. His family confirmed the news on Monday via the band's Facebook account. No other band members were injured. No arrests have been reported.
