US$1,000 next-gen consoles could cut combined PS6 and Xbox sales by 38%, Ampere warns

Ampere Analysis forecasts that if Sony and Microsoft launch the PlayStation 6 and Xbox Project Helix in 2028 at US$1,000 each, combined sales over five years could fall up to 38% versus the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. By 2031 the PlayStation and Xbox games-and-services market would be US$3.4 billion, or 12%, smaller than at a US$700 launch price.
