Music publisher Round Hill sues Suno and Anthropic for up to $1 billion each, refuses to settle

Round Hill Music filed copyright suits against AI firms Suno and Anthropic on August 17 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The publisher controls 14,364 compositions and 16,873 recordings. It seeks statutory damages of up to $150,000 per willfully infringed work, with totals approaching $1 billion per case. CEO Josh Gruss says Round Hill will not settle.
