Alia Shawkat paused her commitment to Dylan Meyer's stoner comedy The Wrong Girls because the role required heavy weed smoking and she was pregnant, The Hollywood Reporter reports (17 August 2026). When she stepped back, the film's financing disappeared. After Shawkat gave birth, new financing was secured and the feature went forward.
