Foodwatch's lab screening of 64 samples detected banned-pesticide residues in 45 tea and spice products, published 8 June 2026. Paprika, chili, cumin, and green tea showed heaviest contamination. Products met legal limits but contained substances prohibited for EU crop production, exposing a gap: imports face no ban if residue thresholds hold.
