Colombia earthquake: 281 dead, 10,600 homes destroyed, hundreds missing

A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck Colombia's Pacific Coast, epicentre in San José del Palmar, Chocó, roughly 150 miles west of Bogotá. At least 281 people died, over 3,900 were injured, 10,600 homes were destroyed and nearly 400 remained missing, according to the Associated Press. Civilian databases listed more than 4,200 missing. The quake followed two earthquakes in Venezuela in June.
