Editor of 'The Others' turns 6,000 unseen Spanish Civil War negatives into directorial debut

Nacho Ruiz Capillas, editor of Alejandro Amenábar's 'The Others,' 'Agora' and 'Maixabel,' makes his directorial debut with 'War Material Captured From the Enemy,' screened at Locarno's Spanish Film Previews on 12 August 2026. The film is built around a box of 6,000 negatives, mostly from the Spanish Civil War, that were never developed or seen. Horacio Alcalà of The Aurora Project produces.
