Colombia Recognizes Israeli Sovereignty Over Golan Heights

Colombia recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights on 10 August 2026, joining the United States as the only two nations to do so. The UN still considers the territory part of Syria. The move came days after far-right President Abelardo de la Espriella took office and was coordinated with Israel's foreign minister before his inauguration.
