Developers of the £430m Greenlink interconnector — a 125-mile subsea cable linking the U.K. and Irish grids, completed in April — voluntarily rerouted its path near Freshford, Wales. Hundreds of Harry Potter fans had objected to cables passing beneath an informal memorial to the character Dobby. The fan-maintained site has no legal protection; no authority mandated the change.
