Certified eclipse glasses are sold out across the UK before the 12 August partial solar eclipse, when 90–96% of the Sun will be blocked. Online orders may arrive too late. Astronomer Neill Sanders, who imported 300,000 pairs, blames last-minute buying rather than a true shortage. Officials warn that ordinary sunglasses cannot safely filter solar radiation.
