EU Gas Prices Climb as Hormuz Reopening Doubts Return

EU natural gas (TTF, the continent's benchmark price) rose 3.43% to €57.45/MWh on August 10. Earlier gains followed Trump's claim the Strait of Hormuz would reopen toll-free. Iran said its Oman deal was in "final stages" on August 9 but insisted the US "must act" first. About 20% of global oil and LNG has been blocked since February 28.
