Parties meet Long Covid group but make no promises

Five political parties joined an online meeting on 10 August 2026 with Long Covid Support Aotearoa, a group helping people still sick long after catching Covid-19. None of the parties promised any new help. About 185,000 adults in New Zealand have Long Covid, health survey figures show. The group wants better tracking of the illness and easier access to disability support.
