At Def Con 2026 in Las Vegas, researcher Bill Swearingen showed printable patterns that trick surveillance cameras and license plate readers into not seeing people, faces, or vehicles. The designs confuse the software that identifies objects, but the camera still records video. He ran about 31 million tests over a year and posted the designs at norecognition.org.
