Blanche Drops Controversial Deal, Wins Senate Vote

Todd Blanche scrapped a Justice Department deal that would have set up a $1.8 billion fund and given the president, his sons, and his business a pass on taxes. Senator Murkowski called it a "slush fund" — money with no real oversight. Blanche pulled out days before the August 8, 2026 vote, winning 51–49.
