
Yemen's Houthi Rebels Kill 30 Soldiers, Ending Years-Long Peace Deal
On August 7, 2026, Yemen's Houthi rebel group fired missiles and drones at government military camps, killing at least 30 soldiers and wounding 15. The attack broke a peace agreement the United Nations had arranged in April 2022. A Houthi spokesperson said they struck because they spotted Saudi Arabia moving troops nearby.
