Bethesda releases free new Quake levels for the game's 30th birthday

MachineGames and id Software released "Dawn of the Machine," a free set of 19 new levels for the classic game Quake, on August 6, 2026. It launched on nine platforms including PS5, Xbox, Steam, and Switch 2. The update adds new enemy types, new weapons, a multiplayer map, and a system that lets players replay levels to earn lasting upgrades.
