Gaza Ceasefire Has Not Stopped Children From Dying, Says UN Agency
A ceasefire is when both sides agree to stop fighting. UNICEF, the UN's children's group, said August 6, 2026, that 300 children have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire began October 10, 2025 — about one child each day. Hundreds more were hurt. Official Edouard Beigbeder said a ceasefire that lets a child die daily is failing children. The count rose from 100 in January to 300 in August.
