Former Spotify engineers raise $10M to personalize online shopping

Malachyte, founded by three engineers who built Spotify's song-suggestion system for 800 million users, raised $10M on August 6, 2026. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and Gradient, the startup aims to recommend products to shoppers on Shopify the way Spotify recommends music.
