Nintendo to raise Switch 2 price as sales decline

Nintendo will raise the Switch 2 price from $449.99 to $499.99 worldwide on September 1, 2026 — an 11% increase. The hike comes as quarterly sales fell 34.4% from a year earlier, to 3.82 million units. Higher costs for parts and import taxes cost Nintendo about $633 million. The company says adoption remains strong and is not worried.
