Meta Launches Muse Code, an AI Tool That Writes Software Code

Meta launched Muse Code in beta on August 5, 2026. Powered by Muse Spark 1.2, the tool uses AI to plan, write, and check changes across multiple files in a software project — doing several tasks at once in separate copies so the programmer's own work stays untouched. Mark Zuckerberg announced it. The single-command install targets workflows now dominated by OpenAI's Codex and Anthropic's Claude Code.
