Israel Attacks Lebanon While Peace Talks Happen in Rome

Israel bombed southern Lebanon on 5 August 2026. Lebanon says one person died and twelve were hurt. Israel blamed Hezbollah for breaking a ceasefire — a deal to stop fighting. The attack came as the US helped lead peace talks in Rome. The ceasefire had lasted six weeks since 19 June.
