ACT defends medicine-funding image that exaggerates the gap

ACT's press secretary for Todd Stephenson defended the party's Facebook image showing Australia's 215 funded medicines as 10 pills and New Zealand's 86 as two. He called it "a graphic and not a graph." University of Auckland professor Thomas Lumley said the image shows a five-fold gap when the real difference is 2.5 times. The Advertising Standards Authority gives political ads more leeway than other ads.
