Huge Wildfires Near Spokane Force 60,000 People to Leave Home

Three large wildfires near Spokane, Washington, have forced more than 60,000 people to leave their homes. The fires have destroyed over 700 buildings, with 400 more still unchecked. Governor Bob Ferguson called it likely the worst disaster in Spokane's history. Mayor Lisa Brown warned more deaths are possible. No deaths confirmed yet. Sixteen wildfires burn statewide.
