60,000 Evacuated as Spokane Wildfires Destroy 700+ Buildings

Three major wildfires around Spokane, Washington, have forced over 60,000 people to evacuate and destroyed more than 700 buildings, with 400 more unassessed. Governor Bob Ferguson called it likely the worst natural disaster in Spokane's history. Mayor Lisa Brown warned further loss of life remains possible. No deaths have been confirmed. Sixteen wildfires are active statewide.
