House Panel Says Lawmaker Should Be Formally Reprimanded for Harassment
A House committee on August 3, 2026, recommended that Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-N.C.) be censured — or formally scolded by the full House — for breaking rules against sexual harassment. The bipartisan committee found "persistent unprofessional and inappropriate conduct" toward two young female staffers, including gifts of jewelry, guns, designer purses and vacations. A vote cannot happen before September 2026 due to the August break.
