House Ethics Committee Recommends Censure of Rep. Chuck Edwards for Sexual Harassment

The House Ethics Committee on August 3, 2026, recommended censure of Rep. Chuck Edwards (R-N.C.) for violating House rules on sexual harassment and hostile workplaces. The bipartisan panel found "persistent unprofessional and inappropriate conduct" toward two young female staffers, including gifts of jewelry, guns, designer purses and vacations. A censure vote cannot occur before September 2026 due to the August recess.
