EU Now Requires Labels on AI-Made Content
On August 2, 2026, the EU began enforcing rules requiring platforms to label content made by AI — including fake videos, AI-composed media, and news summaries — and to tell users when they are interacting with AI instead of a real person. The EU is the first major government to make this mandatory. Violations risk fines up to €15 million or 3% of global revenue.
