Avalanche on a Remote Pakistan Mountain Leaves Ten Climbers Missing

An avalanche swept across Broad Peak, a 8,047-meter mountain in Pakistan, around midday, leaving ten climbers missing. The team was led by Nirmal Purja, a famous Nepal-born climber who once scaled all 14 of the world's tallest peaks in six months. Pakistan's Alpine Club confirmed the event. At least one American, a Texas woman, is among the missing. Rescue details remain unclear.
