Small party launches 40 candidates as it hovers near Parliament's entry point
The Opportunity Party has named 40 candidates, all standing in local electorates, with leader Qiqaue Wong at the top. Under MMP, a party needs 5 percent of the vote to get into Parliament without winning a local seat. The party sits at 4.7 percent. Clearing the threshold would give it six MPs. Wong said the team expected "better than the current political parties are delivering."
