AI Startup Co-Founder Lilian Weng Returns to OpenAI

Lilian Weng, co-founder of Thinking Machines Lab — valued at $9 billion — has left the startup, citing health problems worsened by the rush to launch its product, Inkling. She is rejoining OpenAI to lead a team working on recursive self-improvement: building AI that gets better at improving itself. She previously ran AI safety research there.
